I hope everyone had a nice winter break and happy holidays! I can't believe it is 2017; this school year has been going so quickly.
For this month we will be starting some new units for K-2:
Second graders will be finishing their research projects about science biomes using Google Docs, Kid Rex, and Pebble Go. Afterwards, we will start our unit on coding and robotics, which will overlap with February.
First graders began learning about the basics of coding. We are going to be using iPads and Chromebooks to learn how coding works. By the end of this unit, we will have the opportunity to create mini projects using coding.
Kindergarteners are also learning about basics of coding using Scratch Jr., an application that was introduced in library classes. Students will collaborate together to create a project that involves the basics of coding. Towards the end of the unit, we will get to operate mini robots called Bee Bots, which ties in with coding and robotics.
