Standards for Technology
Massachusetts is one of the leading states in technology education. Students begin learning about computers and other devices at an early age. From the grades K-2, students learn about the basic uses of computers, iPads, and other devices. They develop concepts and skills that provide a foundation for later grades. From 3-5th grade, students learn more about specific software programs and tools that help them present and gather information. Students become more proficient with technology and use it to enhance learning. By the time students complete elementary school and approach middle schools, students should have an understanding of using word processing programs, create presentations, do basic research, know how to be a good digital citizen.
